How I Got Here

Seeing & Making

I’ve always worked with art. I studied architecture and earned both my BA and MA, learning how to notice space, proportion, material, and light. That way of seeing carries into everything I make now. I work across mediums including, whittling, painting, drawing, beaded necklaces, candle making, baking, cooking and leather work. I strive to  follow curiosity and learn through my hands.

Building & Sharing

When I wanted a place for my work to live, I built it. I designed a craft cart and a suitcase-style shop to sell my work in person. I’m interested in how handmade objects move through the world, how small objects can slow someone down, and how making becomes a point of connection.

I’m Celeste. Colette is the name I work under.

I make things with my hands and learn as I go.

Smudge keeps me company most days.
